JI + Barrage {E} works pretty well down there...

IDK... I go down on occasion with a full balanced party and we average 2 or 3 shards each by the time we leave... Last run we were down there for around 4hours yielded 13 shards total. an Ecto, 3 Rubies, 1 Sapphire, 1 black dye, and several gold drops (Including a nice Max Shadow blade) for all of us... and 2 gold chests, and 2 purple... Lots of salvage of course... All in all each member of the party left with a total value of around 20+k. If they sell to the market. more like 8k to NPCs... Not bad for a fissure clear out... Sure was a fun trip to say the least... Which is the most important part.

You could try using a variation of the W/Mes build I use to solo down there by the caves.
The key to the build is Physical Resistance to ward off the hits from the spiders and snarling driftwood.
Build could go something like:
R/Mes
Barrage
Storm Chaser
Savage Shot
Distracting Shot
Troll Unguent
Physical Resistance
Whirling
Serpents Quickness
I'll have to test it but already I can see flaws in that there's not a constant heal at hand to deal with the degen thrown at you when running by Ancient Skales, and the constant poison degen of the spiders. Snarling you can handle without an issue, but you're pretty much crossing your fingers that a shard/gold item drops within the first group or 2.

streets, just because you've never seen ecto in FoW doesn't mean there isn't any.
as proven by Ingram.
please, don't try making other people look bad for no reason -- it just rebounds back on you for being a jackass.

SOLO build for Forest:
R/Me, must have all 200 attributes
(High Expertise and WS, Marks only the minimum bow req)
Poison Arrow {e}
Savage Shot
Kindle Arrows
Storm Chaser
Dodge
Trall enguent
Physical Resistance
Manta of Ligtning
a good thing to have is:
---->Poisoners bow with +30hp grip (im using Elswyth Long Bow, dont use Dragos bow cuz the idea is to degen to death and not to deal sundering dmg, plus, flat bow arrows take longer to reach target so harder to interrupt )
---->Studded Leather armor (+15 vs lightning)
---->Duids armor (+7 energy) or Scale (+15 vs fire) for when runing
---->3 masks (+1+3 WS, +1+3 Expertise, +1+1 WS (when you get to spiders you need extra 75 hp for degenaration)
*dont have screen shot of runing map, so search, but the run is very easy.
first time i recoment to Duo it with a ranger who knows what he's doin there, after 3-4 duo runs yuo should be ready to solo this

Im working on a build that can solo forest then run down to beach and solo it too. Both area's in 1 run would give great profit! So far so good, as i have found a way to make the spiders at beach do...0-3's. Poison is constant so troll ungeant always. I stuck the components from this solo area and tryed to apply it to the forest. I got satisfactory resultsin forest and great results at beach. I need to apply some forest build "technique" and skills. I will not release my build for a bit. I have finished a few buffs and im dieing to test it. Stupid gw not working for me right now.(even if it did i will need to wait for favor). Ill post soon so keep an eye out for it

up to you cuz you got your own style but i keep it for when storm chaser runs out and im not in a safe place YET! or if i need to run REALLY fast cuz theres 10 mobs after me, lol
cuz dodge "evades" attaks and runs 33% faster instead of 25%, so its my
"runing away and save my ass" skill
